Hi I got a new macbook air. I was just wondering if any of you could suggest some apps for me? I didn't know I couldn't use all the apps I use on my iphone. Any help would be appreciated! I love games and cool stuff like that. Take care all!
Hi,
Some of the games built into OSX are accessible. I'm sure there will be third party games that are accessible too, but I don't tend to play that many games on the computer.
I use a lot of the built-in apps for tasks such as Mail and sAfari rather than trying to find third party alternatives.
I've installed Pages (the Mac equivalent of Word) though you may find that Textedit meets your needs. I also have Get iPlayer Automator which lets you download TV and radio content from the BBC in the UK as the online player is not accessible using Safari. I'm a member of Audible for reading books but there isn't a specific app as there is for Windows or iOS, you just play the books in iTunes.
You make a good point about not being able to use some of the same iOS apps under Mac OSX. While some of them don't have OSX equivalents, where the equivalents exist, they might not be accessible under Mac OSX such as the Kindle app.
The applevis website has information on OSX apps as well as iOS ones.
You'll no doubt have spotted that there is an Appstore for the Mac as there is for iDevices. The one thing I would say is that the price can vary between the Appstore and the program developer's website if the app is available from there, so it's worth checking both before downloading.
you can instal RS games on it and play on it. I have it and once I get VMWare I am going to get the playroom installed too.
hmm it would be hoove the play room dev to wake up and smell the coffee and make a mac vertion, until then I run boot camp.
yeah. I use fusion all the time for running windows and stuff on my mac
